Buckingham Clinic Covid-19 Policy

The purpose of this document is to lay out the Practical steps that we are taking in relation to Covid-19 in our Balfron Clinic.

People are rightly concerned with the risk of contact and droplet spread between the public and practitioner/patient. We are setting out the measures that we are taking to mitigate cross infections within our Practice. These procedures will address the known and unknown risks with various degrees of evidence and value to help provide a safer environment for everyone.

The following step will help mitigate known symptomatic risk of spreading Covid -19:

We will not allow anyone in to the Practice with cold or flu symptoms unless they have had a negative test for Covid 19.
We will not treat anyone known to have Covid 19 and will ask them to stay at home and isolate as per government guidelines.
Patients with cold or flu like symptoms and have had a negative test for Covid -19 may be treated at the discretion of the Practitioner.
All adults are responsible for their own safety and should be allowed to take the measures they feel comfortable with.

Temperature:

Patients temperature will be taken prior to treatment.

Distancing:

Patients will be encouraged to practice distancing measures which we will endeavour to do this by:
Limiting the number of patients in the Clinic at one time.
Reduce the number of chairs in the waiting room to two.
Reduce the number of Staff.
All bookings and enquires will be done through a virtual reception.
History taking will be from a safe distance.

Practice Hygiene:

The Clinic will be deep cleaned daily.
After each patient the room will be full disinfected by XtraProtect which is lab tested to kill and protect 99.9% of bacteria and enveloped viruses including Covid-19.
All tables, chairs toilets card machines will be cleaned with XtraProtect.
Door handles have been covered in Copper which viruses cant live on.
Plinth covers have been replaced with plastic and pillows are now plastic and able to be disinfected.
Hand sanitisation will be available outside the Clinic and throughout the building.
Cash will be discouraged and the card machine will be cleaned prior to use. Online booking will encourage payment by bank transfer.

PPE:

Staff will wear PPE with face masks, gloves and disposable aprons. The level of PPE required will be at the discretion of the Practitioner.
Patients will be encouraged to wear face masks supplied. They are free to wear disposable gloves if desired.
We will not be handling any fluids such as blood or saliva.
